Summer Camp Session 1: A Snapshot of Discovery and Creativity
Corey kicked off Summer Camp Session 1 with a week full of learning, hands-on experiences, and a whole lot of fun in the world of photography. With seven students, ages ranging from 12 to 16, the camp provided the perfect environment for young photographers to explore their interests and build new skills.
Getting Started with Cameras
The camp began with everyone getting acquainted with their cameras, experimenting with settings, and learning the basics. Soon after, the real adventure began as the group roamed around the MCC campus, searching for the perfect shots and capturing moments from fresh perspectives.
Student Showcase
- Product Photography: Students had the opportunity to focus on product photography, experimenting with lighting and technique to showcase items in creative ways.

- On-the-Fly Portraits: While exploring the campus, participants practiced portrait photography, approaching people and asking to snap their photos — a valuable, real-world exercise in confidence and communication.
- Campus Architecture in Black & White: The group captured MCC’s architectural highlights, and Corey converted these images to black and white to emphasize structure and form.
- Highlander Ranch & Equine Encounters: The final day took everyone off campus to Highlander Ranch, where the focus shifted to nature and animal photography. Working with horses provided an exciting challenge, combining patience, observation, and quick reflexes.

An Impactful Experience
In just four days, the campers gained hands-on experience and walked away with a portfolio of diverse images to remember their time by. Everyone had a good time and learned a lot in the process.
